What’s included?

  • At the heart of the club is our members only forum. We use Discord. It’s a welcoming space where members support each other through training, life, wins, wobbles and everything in between.

    Members use the space to:

    • share runs, pretty views, training and race updates

    • ask questions about all things running, gear and training

    • get encouragement when motivation is low

    • celebrate progress and small wins, support each other through wobbles

    • talk about life beyond running

    • Take part in collective virtual challenges. Right now we’re travelling across the European long-distance path E4 together.

    • Use the dedicated channels that provide regular structure and touch points for accountability and mindset support

Nothing is compulsory so just take the bits that serve you and leave the rest. Some members are very active in the community, while others read along quietly and join in occassionally. Both are completely welcome.

Community members aren’t guaranteed coaching responses, but I do occasionally step in with advice where helpful. Because the space is monitored, if incorrect or potentially harmful advice appears I will step in and correct it. Unlike unmonitored facebook groups that are full of conflicting, confusing or often incorrect advise.

  • Wednesdays, 18:00–19:30 (UK time)

A relaxed, informal Zoom call where members can drop in for a chat and spend time together.

There’s no formal structure, no awkward introductions or icebreakers, and no pressure to participate in any particular way. You’re welcome to drop in at any point during the call and stay for as long or as little as you like.

Some people chat, some listen quietly and others show up with their dinner or cook while the call is on. Come with your camera on or off, whatever feels comfortable.

I do my best to make sure there’s enough space for everyone who wants to talk and share how they’re doing, but there’s never any pressure. You’re always welcome to simply drop in for the company and lols (there’s always lols)

  • Once a month, on a Sunday at 19:00 (UK time)

A laid-back movie night where we watch films tied to running and outdoor adventures (not always about running!)

We watch together in sync and there’s a chat going if you want to share thoughts as we watch but as always there’s no pressure! You can just watch quietly or catch the film in your own time.

We always watch free-to-access movies, so no subscriptions to third party streaming platforms needed.

  • From time to time the club takes on collective virtual challenges where we work together towards a shared goal.

Right now we’re travelling across the European long-distance path E4. A 10,000km trail that stretches across Europe.

Members run wherever they normally run and their mileage contributes to the collective total. Each week I add up the miles and move our marker along the route, sharing a little round-up of the places we’ve “travelled” through.

It’s a fun way to feel connected to the wider club and to be part of a shared adventure as well as providing a little motivation to get you out on your runs.

  • The community also includes a few simple ways members support each other and stay accountable.

There are the peer accountability space where members can ask for a supportive nudge in real time. Someone might say, “I’m planning to run at 4 p.m., can someone remind me?” or “I need to get out for my run but I’m struggling today.” The community will often step in with encouragement. Or sometimes, if required, help someone recognise that rest might actually be what they need over pushing through regardless.

There’s also a weekly accountability space where members share their training intentions for the week ahead and report back on how the previous week went.

And finally, there’s our 5 Wins channel, where members share five positive moments (big or small) from their week. They don’t have to be running related, it’s just a way to end the week on a positive note and start the next one feeling encouraged.

As with everything else, nothing is compulsory, take what you need, leave what you don’t.

  • Community members occasionally receive extra perks and discounts, including:

    • 15% off at Sportsshoes with the club discount code

    • Free or discounted race entries when events offer places to the club

    • Reduced prices on Queer Runnings programmes, workshops and events that are open to non-members

These opportunities vary throughout the year and are shared with members as they become available.
