Meet your coach
A running coach should help you build a training approach that works with your life rather than make you feel like your life has to revolve around the training plan.
Your work, family responsibilities, physical and mental health, neurodivergence, confidence, previous experiences, available time and access to safe running spaces can all affect your training. A good training plan needs to account for that. And as someone who lives with ADHD, autism and an autoimmune condition, I get that life can be less than straight forward.
I coach runners of all abilities. You don't need to be fast, experienced, or training for a particular kind of event. Whether you're preparing for your first 5k, working towards a new distance, returning after time away, or just want a more consistent and enjoyable relationship with running, we'll start with where you are now, and what you'd like running to become.
I will help you build a running routine that is realistic, sustainable and that moves you towards your goals while responding sensibly when life changes. All in a space where you don't have to explain yourself, brace for misgendering or hide who you are.
Compare Coaching Options
I try to keep prices as accessible as I can by operating a sliding scale; supported, standard and supporter. The prices shown below are the Standard rate. See How the sliding scale works further down if cost is a barrier or if you can afford to support others. You don't need to explain or justify anything.

For runners who want a clear training structure, access to coaching advice and the support of an inclusive community.
Foundation gives you the guidance and accountability while you manage your day-to-day training independently. You'll choose an appropriate plan from the training-plan library (all plans are written by me) and get support from me applying it to your own running. A good fit when you want more than a free training plan you found online, but don't yet need something written specifically for you.
What's included:
Access to the Queer Runnings training-plan library, covering a range of distances and goals
Training plan delivered through Final Surge, a free to you coaching platform. Arrange sessions on the calendar, sync your GPS watch or tracking app and keep track of what’s happening.
Weekly group coaching calls with me (Zoom)
Access to the private Queer Runnings Discord community where you can find support, accountability and a wealth of kindness.
Weekly social calls ( on Zoom) to connect with other members
Regular coaching guidance, resources and once monthly training talk on various running and gear related topics
This could suit you if: you want a reliable structure and regular access to a coach, but you're comfortable following a non-individualised plan and making some training decisions yourself with access to expert guidance.
Next intake: January 2027
If you want to join sooner, check out the Autumn Accountability Club starting in October, the comprehensive coaching option, or join the club right now without coaching here (and get a special members discount on your first month of coaching when you join).

For runners who want a personalised training plan built around their goals, experience, schedule and wider life.
Rather than a pre written plan, you'll get a training plan I write specifically for you, reflecting your fitness, running background, available time, preferences and goals. Get support and guidance during once weekly group coaching calls or direct message
Everything in Foundation, plus:
A personalised training plan, written by me (not AI). You’ll fill out a questionnaire all about your running history (if any), goals and what your life looks like day today so that I can tailor everything perfectly.
Written feedback on your progress once a month and things to focus on next month.
Training plan delivered through Final Surge, a free to you coaching platform. See all sessions clearly on the calendar with full instructions to avoid any confusion. Sync your GPS watch or tracking app and keep track of what’s happening.
Weekly group coaching calls with me (Zoom). An opportunity for you to ask questions, get a pep talk or simply come along to listen to others questions. These are recorded so if you cannot make the live calls, you can still submit questions and listen to the answer in your own time.
Access to the private Queer Runnings Discord community where you can find support, accountability and a wealth of kindness.
Weekly social calls (on Zoom) to connect with other members.
Regular coaching guidance, resources and once monthly training talk on various running and gear related topics
This could suit you if: generic plans don't fit your schedule or goals and you want a plan built specifically for you but you're happy getting support through the group calls rather than needing regular 1:1 support.

Comprehensive
£170.00 per month
For runners who want wrap around one-to-one support across training, recovery, nutrition, fuelling and race preparation.
This is the highest contact/support option. A personalised training programme (both running and strength training), up to once weekly 1:1 coaching calls, daily DM support as you need it as well as nutrition and fuelling support. This isn't just for people chasing ambitious finish times; it's for anyone who'd benefit from a coach closely involved in the process.
Everything in Personalised, plus:
1:1 intro consultation before your training begins (zoom, 45-60mins) so that I can get to know you, your goals, areas you need to work on, knowledge gaps and exactly what your life looks like on a day to day basis. We’ll leave no stone unturned!
Up to once weekly 1:1 coaching calls (30minutes).
Messaging support as needed between calls. No need to wait a week for answers, get support as and when needed (I try to reply within 24hrs).
Plan adjustments as and when you need it, no need to wait until group coaching calls.
Individual race-planning and preparation support.
Minset support/guidance
Nutrition and fuelling guidance for training and events, including race-day fuelling strategy
(Nutrition coaching supports your training but doesn't replace medical care or treatment from a registered dietitian where clinical support is needed.)
This could suit you if: you want a close, collaborative relationship with your coach, your circumstances change frequently, you're preparing for a challenging or longer-distance goal, or confidence and motivation regularly affect your training.

-
Access to a smartphone, tablet or laptop and internet connection. This is so that you can access Zoom, Discord and Final Surge. Plus some trainers and comfortable clothing to run in. You are not required to own a fancy smart watch.
-
Yes! Whilst the majority of our members are based in the UK, we also have members who live elsewhere. The club is entirely virtual so you can live anywhere in the world and join the club. If timezones don’t match up, training talks and club coaching calls are recorded so you can listen at a time that suits you.
-
Absolutely! All abilities of runners are welcome to join whether you have been running half your lifetime or want to start running for the first time ever.
-
Of course! If you would like to talk to me about any needs or adjustments before joining the club, you are welcome to contact me and I will be happy to discuss these with you. You can book a call or email sophie@queerrunnings.com
-
Of course. We have members who are also part of their local running clubs.

I have a number of pay as you can/free spaces available. Please contact me through the contact me if this would help you.
-

-
Yes, you can book a no pressure, free call with me where you can ask me any questions you want. Book here
-
You can join at any time, but for a big race or challenge, I recommend starting at least six months in advance, and ideally up to a year beforehand. This allows time to build a strong base and prepare properly for the demands of your event.
If you already have a solid training base and only need a tune-up, three months may well be enough. You can also join closer to race day, but if there’s only 4-6weeks to go, the focus will be on making the most of your current fitness rather than building a great deal more.
If you are unsure when might be. a good time for you to sign up, book a free call and we can chat. -
You can cancel any time with one months notice although if you have opted for personalised or comprehensive coaching I recommend a minimum of 3months simply because there’s only so much I can do for you in less time!
-
Yes I offer personalised or comprehensive coaching to people outside the LGBTQIA+ community but the spaces I have available are extremely limited and you will not have access to the club or it’s events as it is a Queer only space. If you are interested in this then please send me a message through the contact form or email me at sophie@queerrunnings.com. Please do not sign up via the website.
How the sliding scale works
Each membership has three price points:
Supported rate
Standard rate
Supporter rate
Please choose the tier that best reflects your current financial situation. You don’t need to explain or justify your choice – I trust you. Try to choose the highest rate you can comfortably afford without putting yourself in hardship.
Supporter Rate
“I have enough, and I can help make this more accessible for others.”
You might choose the Supporter rate if several of these feel true:
You can comfortably cover your basic needs (rent, food, bills, groceries) and still have money for wants.
You can afford holidays or weekends away most years.
You can save most months and/or have savings or investments.
You can eat out, order takeaway, buy new clothes or pay for hobbies without much stress.
Your housing feels secure.
A surprise expense of around £200–£300 would be annoying but manageable.
Choosing the Supporter rate helps subsidise lower-cost and free spots and keeps Queer Runnings sustainable.
Standard Rate
“I’m doing mostly okay, but I do have to think about money.”
You might choose the Standard rate if several of these feel true:
You can usually cover your basic needs (rent, food, bills) each month.
You can manage occasional holidays or trips, but they take planning or saving.
You can sometimes afford things like eating out, hobbies, or new clothes, but not all at once and not all the time.
You may have some debt (overdraft, credit card, student loan) but can generally make the payments.
A surprise expense of around £200–£300 would be stressful but doable with some juggling.
This is the rate that reflects the true cost of the service and helps keep the club running long-term.
Supported Rate
“Money is tight, and I couldn’t afford this at the Standard rate, but I can make it work at this level.”
You might choose the Supported rate if several of these feel true:
You can cover your basic needs, but only with careful budgeting.
You don’t usually have much (or any) money left over at the end of the month.
Paying for coaching at the Standard rate would feel too heavy or unrealistic, but the Supported rate feels manageable if you prioritise it.
You might need to trade off other non-essential spending (e.g. fewer meals out or subscriptions) to afford this.
A surprise expense of around £100–£200 would be quite stressful and might mean cutting back elsewhere.
The Supported rate is there so people who are not fully financially comfortable, but who can realistically prioritise coaching, still have access.
And what if I can’t afford even the supported rate?
I try to hold a small number of free or very low-cost spots for people with very low/no income or who rely on state/disability benefits – if that’s you, you’re welcome to contact me and we can talk about options.
